Luke 11 (Part 1)
Before you wait, ask first.
9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
When I was a little girl, I also asked whether God really answers prayers, but now with the countless prayers answered, I can say that God did responds to each and every prayer. Jesus says, “Ask and it will be given”, He did not say receive then ask. Yes, God knows the desires of our hearts, but He gave us mouth to speak and to ask.
I grow up apart from mom, so I was used to write letters or send SMS to her every time I want to say something, but the way I approach my Father is different, I can’t send God some postcards, so I grow up loving to talk to Him and this made the difference. I can come boldly to God than with my mom. My mom gives when she can afford to give, but God He possesses everything, there is nothing He can’t give, yet He knows what’s best.
13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
If my mom was able to give for me countless times, what more my Father in Heaven?
21 “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. 22 But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder.”
I used to be the strong man who guards and even worship my possessions, my achievements, my so-called MINE then Jesus came, the strongest one. He overpowers me, He humbles me by saying everything is HIS including me. My own strength became weak as I gain more strength from Jesus. I shall not put my trust with my own strength but to Him who is stronger than me. Jesus came and ruins my pride, my shield, my me, myself, and I and He transformed it to His His His. Jesus conquered me! He is the best attacker and destroyer, for in Him, He restored my broken life.
The Lamp of the Body
33 “No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. 34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. 35 See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36 Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.”
My eyes are the lamp of the body? I did not know this message from God. How come I missed this?
I love my eyes but I abused it so much. I read and even blog on jeeps, buses, spend 20 hours in front of the computer daily, and that is why I keep on asking God to spare my 20/20 vision. I believe, God is just telling me that as I ask Him to spare my clear vision. I must take care of my eyes too.
Physically, I must take care of my eyes as well as protect it from what it sees. What I see reached my brains, it creates actions, and even emotions; and so I must know what to look and what to see to preserve my body.
No one can see anything in the dark, therefor e I must live in the light, so that my eyes can see and my entire being will shine.
Thanks for this message Oh God!
