Like a Fugitive

A personal reflection on Psalm 84

The psalmist here describes the life of a man with God: Blessed and Better.

4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.

10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;

I love to praise and worship God, to sing and dance especially during Worship nights that how I prayed it wouldn’t end and that my body won’t get tired of singing songs and praise to God and that my throat won’t run out of voice.

I also want to become a missionary, my heart is indeed for the missions, to go to places and share the greatness of God and how I pray that my circumstances will allow me but the Psalmist here encouraged me more to praise God with all my might and not  to doubt, not to be hindered, and not to be fear for the Lord doesn’t give me a spirit of fear but of power, love, and discipline (2 Timothy 1:7)  God  will equip me as I go from strength to strength.

They go from strength to strength,
till each appears before God in Zion.

In obedience to His calls, I will be blessed. As I pray, He listens. As I look up only to Him, He will look down at me with favor.

Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty;
listen to me, God of Jacob.
Look on our shield, O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.

Better is one day in the courts of God, sharing to Him the life that I lived and will be living in obedience to His call as a worshipper and as a missionary than to live in thousand places like a fugitive in escape and excuses from His will and calling.

God did affirm me that my fear in the future will not overcome me for He will bless me as I put my trust and faith in Him.

12 Lord Almighty,
blessed is the one who trusts in you.

The Lord will direct my steps, for His words are a light unto my feet and a lamp unto my path. My future will never be uncertain with a certain God.
