His will be done!

Chapter 14

36 “Abba, Father,”he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.

Indeed, Jesus is human; He feels the pain and He asked for deliverance from God. Jesus is the greatest example of humility and obedience. He humbled Himself before God and of men, and He obeys God even obedience to the cross. There are things in which I asked God for, things that seems to be impossible, yet I  know nothing is impossible with Him so still I pray. When I’m in pain, I pray believing that only Him can heal me. Sometimes, we don’t have to struggle with the things that we want, but all we have to do is to humble ourselves to God and know that only He can, and obey knowing that His wills are better than our plans.

Lord, in this life I have so many things that I want to do and achieve, yet just like Christ, may Your will done and not mine. Instill in my mind Oh Father that Yours are better than my plans and that You have a good, pleasing, and perfect will for me and all I have to do is to obey. Amen.

Guard Up and Watch Out

Chapter 13

“You must be on your guard. 23 So be on your guard; 33 Be on guard! Be alert! 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”

Guard! Jesus said those words repeatedly. I remember when I was in my Muai Thai training the very first thing we do when we have boxing match is we raise our defenses, our coach would say, “Guard up!”  If we don’t raise or guards then our opponents will be able to find a hole where he/she can penetrate and knock us down. I believe this is the same thing with what Jesus said, I must never lose my defenses. I shall be watchful all the time and be always on my guard so that no one can penetrate me when they try to win over me. Jesus already win over me, I shall not allow anyone to steal me back from Him. Jesus asked me to wait for Him while being guarded, and so I must be.

Lord, thank You for giving me the patience to wait for the return of Jesus and as I wait Lord, may give You give me also the strength and perseverance to raise my defenses to be on guard and to be always ready for His return. Amen.

Alive and Living

Chapter 12

27 “He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

If God is dead then where does my worship goes? Will He hear it? No, so my worship is worthless then. If God is dead then to whom does my prayers go? If God is dead then my prayers will forever be unanswered. But I’m grateful that Jesus said that God is alive, He conquered death and that makes my faith alive too. My worship and prayers will never be unheard for the God that I am worshiping is surely alive; and as long as I live, He will be my God and my worship will never ends. If someone stupid would say to me that He is dead; I will just say, God is the source of life then how can He lose His very own life?

Lord, thank You for being alive for me. Thank you for the life that You have given me in Christ. Indeed, as long as I am living You will be my God, and I shall worship no other gods than You. I love you.
