Dong Hae made me smile

We just finished the series entitled Honorology in our youth service in Church, and part of my application of it is honoring my mom with my time, so despite the fact that I’m not a TV person, I sit with mom when she is at home watching her favorite TV series.

As she was watching this Koreanovela in GMA 7, Smile Dong Hae, an exchange of dialogue did caught my attention and somehow there was a light bulb signaling my neurons to search for this episode and transcribe the awesome confession of a man’s love. Here it is,

See? How manly he is with his words, man enough to accept that he is not good for a girl.  Dong Hae, a fictional character, knows what it is to be a real man! A real man knows that his love is not enough to be with a woman. Allow me to quote the tweets of our pastors,

God gave Adam a job before God gave him a wife.” – Steve Murrell

in a more comprehensible sense…

“Get a job before you court a girl.”- Ryan Tan

I also remember what Pastor King Lucero called those boys who courts a girl while they are still dependent with their parents –  self-centered and immature.

Dong Hae is not the typical guy who would profess his love with words that say a lot about himself. Instead, in all honesty,  he points out to things that will disqualify him to be loved by a woman, yet he knows what to do, and that is to prove himself to the girl and her family. Here is another good read about men who put their  best foot forward.

Note to young men:

Boys, be like a man. If you want a woman, just tell us your flaws. If  you are not yet secured with your own future then don’t risk a girl’s future with you. If you can’t protect nor give anything she needs then don’t you dare pursue her just like what Dong Hae did.
